"My name is Colleen Izatt, and I'm Amy's mom. I’m 65 years old and started attending Amy’s strength training class consistently a couple of years ago. I can tell you it has made a huge difference in my life. The girls in the class affectionately call me “Mama C” and I love it!!
Although I’m a biker, and have done many century (100) mile bike rides, this strength training class has improved my body in so many ways. I feel like a younger version of myself. Firmer, tighter.
My shoulder and neck pain, probably caused by long bike rides has improved dramatically as I have strengthened the muscles in that area. My back and legs are stronger as well, making my traditional birthday bike ride, 65 miles, a piece of cake.
Also, I have a large garden and a flock of chickens. The chores of digging, bending, lifting and carrying those 50 lbs of feed is so much easier.
Just recently, I got back the results of a bone density scan and the good news is that I’m safely in the low risk category for osteoporosis. I had a doctor tell me, I don’t know what you’re doing, but keep it up.
The best part—as a grandma, I can play and do things with my grandkids. Life doesn’t get much better than that."
